The Southern Right Whale makes their way to the cape shoreline between July and November annually and they come so close that visitors can watch them from their hotels balconies. Hermanus is one of the world’s centers for whale watching and this town has employed a “whale crier” to walk through the town along the shore announcing where the whales have been spotted.
